Welcome to FasterSkier’s Holiday Gift Guide! The holidays are here and it’s time to go hunting for the perfect present for your favorite cross-country skiers. Whether it’s a fresh and sexy underwear or an amazing ski adventure we have recommendations for the best gifts out there. Take a look and see for yourself. You’ll walk away with some great ideas to make this ski season one to remember.
We’ve broken up our gift guide into five budgetary segments: Under $25, $25-$50, $50-$100, $100-$200 and $200-and-over. Happy shopping!
Pacsafe Cable Lock, $18. Nordic skiers are pretty good folks, but you never know when one of those gravity dependent types might venture past your gear, right? Plus you could always lock all your Fischer Speedmax together.
A traveling French Press, this will surely warm up even the coldest winter morning.
Heading out for a long run, but you don’t want to carry your bulky hydration belt… look no farther. Great for traveling business people too because it won’t take up so much room in your carry-on.
We promise not to make every other suggestion about coffee, but you can never go wrong in our minds by getting some beans from a new roaster for the skier/coffee drinker on your list to sample. The blend pictured here might be challenging to find.
Your Snoopy ornament has to have a set of skis for his workout once you’ve gone to bed.
We just love these, feel free to send some to the FasterSkier crew.
Skiers spend a lot of money on the clothing we wear when we workout and let’s face it, it often smells really bad.
As BeFast puts it, “Conquering mountains is all about attitude.” Look fast, ski fast.
Show support for the US Ski Team while looking super cool and super fast!
These “techie” socks are just darn tough and some of our favorites – perfect weight to keep feet warm and dry.
Not everywhere has internet, so when you can’t read FasterSkier, The Ski Journal is a great way to keep reading all about the sport you love.
The perfect no-seam base under any touring or racing tights and totally sexy without them. And don’t worry fellas, there’s a version for you too.
While the cable lock seems like it would get you some looks at most nodie areas, I was wishing I had one a few years ago.
I walk out of the shop, 4 pm or so, getting dark, and my poles are gone! Skis are there, poles are gone. Sh*t! I frantically look for them for about 20 minutes, no where to be found. So, I go back inside, and tell the shop guys, if any a pair of brand new red Swix Star poles with SEP written on the grip show up, can they put them aside and give me a call? I was so pissed, I had spent all day teaching a group of super beginners, and now I was heading back to Denver with no poles. Dammit!
A few days later, I get a call from the shop, they say someone called in and has my poles! It just so happens that some old guy accidentally grabbed them and didn’t notice until he got home. So he calls the nordic area to explain the situation and to see if anyone has asked for them. Wow, was I *pumped* to get that call. Turns out the the guy lives in Denver, so I drive up there (with a pack of beer for him because he was so cool in calling the poles in), pick them up, little small talk, and my poles are back with me safe and sound. (Until I fall and break them on Lactic Grande, knock on wood.)
So, let’s make this a thread. Instead of all the negativity this holiday season (Russian doping article), why doesn’t everyone post the nicest/coolest/most thoughtful thing that has happened to them while involved in this great sport of Nordic skiing?
